The New Model T’s

I know I’m ahead of the game—but not by much. The world of The Jetsons is fast approaching.

Unbeknownst to most of the world, the eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-OH and Landing) vehicle—also known as the air taxi—is already here. The technology isn’t new. The only things slowing widespread adoption are regulatory hurdles, airspace integration, and public-relations groundwork. Meanwhile, billion-dollar companies like Archer Aviation, Joby Aviation, Vertical Aerospace, Wisk Aero, Volocopter, Eve Air Mobility, Ehang, Beta Technologies—as well as giants like Airbus and Hyundai—are all racing ahead with piloted air taxis.

But here’s the heart of this blog:

What no one is talking about is the coming wave of small one- or two-person eVTOLs built by homebuilders, startups, and small-cap innovators.

This wave will spark an economic transformation worldwide.
As I said, the technology is already old. The truth is that the tech powering a handheld drone with 5-inch propellers is fundamentally the same tech that powers an eVTOL capable of lifting a person. Let that sink in.

Those of us in the industry—and many passionate hobbyists—have known this for years. Many have already begun designing and building their own personal eVTOLs. Here are just a few of the companies leading the charge and showing the world what small eVTOL innovation really looks like:

The creativity in these designs is incredible and I love it! They’re beautiful, bold, and they represent only the first generation—the Model T’s—of the coming Jetsons world.
Stay tuned…
