We are pleased to announce that our colleague, Carlos Martinez, has officially earned his drone pilot certification (Part 107). Carlos has been a spotter with us from the beginning of our endeavors. His experience as a drone pilot and hands-on drone equipment handling goes back to the 2010s, but in recent years, due to the very restrictive drone laws now in place in the five boroughs of NYC (which we are all in favor of) he has been unable to fly locally, limited to NJ and Long Island. With his Part 107, Carlos will be flying missions for us in NYC as well as projects involving 2-drone arrays. The test is a very technical one, largely aimed at an understanding of compliance and risk management, but it does not mean that you are a seasoned flyer. In Carlos, we have someone who we can both trust to fly safely, and base his decisions on up-to-date knowledge of rules and regulations.
